Justin Henriksen is an LA-based actor, writer, producer and filmmaker. He is currently finishing his third year of his MFA Acting program at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Justin spent the summer acting professionally in the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival and just finished making his debut film, Playing the Protagonist, a project that he starred in, wrote, produced and financed.
While at CalArts, Justin has studied acting, movement, voice, speech, Alexander Technique and puppetry. Justin also performs stand-up and improvised comedy, and has studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in New York City and Los Angeles.
Justin is from Marshfield, MA and earned his undergraduate degree from Amherst College, where he was a member of the golf team and the school’s improv group, Mr. Gad’s House of Improv. While at Amherst, Justin studied Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought. Upon graduation from Amherst, Justin was awarded the Raymond Keith Bryant Prize for best performance of the year in an Amherst College Masquers’ play. Prior to attending CalArts, Justin spent three years working on Wall Street as an investment banker in New York City.
Justin’s other passions include playing guitar, golfing, skiing, exercising and volunteering. Growing up, Justin volunteered for Medical Missions for Children (MMFC), a non-profit organization dedicated to the surgical care of cleft lip and cleft palate deformities. Justin has volunteered for MMFC’s charity golf tournament, and even spent time in the Philippines on one of their missions.
